NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) continues to rack up the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball rookie of the week awards as he earned the award for the third straight week on Monday.
Alexis, now a five-time CACC rookie of the week, had another tremendous week with 30.5 ppg and 15.5 rpg. In a 77-66 win over Goldey-Beacom on Feb. 19, Alexis poured in 33 points, on 16-of-21 shooting, ripped down a career-high 20 rebounds, and blocked three shots. It was Philadelphia's first 20-rebound game since March 15, 2008. Four days later, Alexis went 28 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-63 loss at Wilmington (Del.)
He is leading the team in scoring (15.0 ppg), rebounding (8.8 rpg), shooting percentage (63.2), and blocks (48). In the CACC, Alexis is first in shooting, third in blocks, seventh in rebounding, and 16th in scoring. Alexis owns the 10th best shooting percentage in Division II.
Philadelphia (16-7, 11-5 CACC) wraps up the regular season against visiting Chestnut Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 8 p.m.
