ALBANY, N.Y. – Philadelphia University sophomore forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was voted onto the 2013-14 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-East Region First Team by the NCAA Division II East Region sports information directors.
An All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) first team selection, Alexis is leading the Rams in scoring (18.1 points per game), rebounding (9.5 rebounds per game), field goal shooting (60.5 percent), field goals made (236), blocks (56), minutes per game (37.6), and double-doubles (15).
In the conference, Alexis ranks second in field goal shooting, field goals made, and minutes per game; third in rebounds; fourth in blocks; and fifth in scoring. He is fifth in Division II in field goals made, seventh in minutes per game, 12th in double-doubles, and 25th in shooting percentage.
Alexis was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team after averaging 18.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, and shooting 67.6 percent from the field in the three games.
In January, Alexis was tabbed for the 2013-14 Capital One Division II Academic All-District 1 Men's Basketball Team.
Philadelphia (26-5), the CACC champion, will face Franklin Pierce in the opening round of the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament on Saturday, March 15 at 8:30 p.m.
