NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball defensive player of the week by the conference office on Monday.
Alexis averaged 8.5 defensive rebounds, 2.5 blocked shots, and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 week for the Rams. He opened the week with four defensive rebounds, three blocked shots, and one steal in a 75-72 double overtime loss at Kutztown on Nov. 25. Against West Chester, Alexis recorded 13 defensive rebounds, two blocks, and a season-high two steals to help Philadelphia earn a 97-92 double overtime victory on Nov. 29. He finished the game against the Golden Rams with a career-high 22 rebounds—the second-highest total in a Division II game this season.
Alexis is ranked 15th in Division II with the CACC best field goal percentage of 70.2. He sits second in the conference with 11 blocks and fifth with 9.2 rebounds per game. Alexis is averaging 13.5 points per game.
Philadelphia (3-3, 1-0 CACC) heads to Holy Family for a CACC battle on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 8 p.m.
