Alexis earns CACC men’s basketball defensive player of the week award

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University junior forward Peter Alexis (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's basketball defensive player of the week by the conference office Monday.

In the Rams' only game of the week, a 55-48 win over Molloy on Jan. 5, Alexis ripped down nine defensive rebounds and blocked four shots—three in the opening 20 minutes. He finished the game with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Alexis—a two-time CACC defensive player of the week—is second in the conference in blocks (24), third in rebounds per game (10.3), and fourth in defensive rebounds (82). He is also second in field goal shooting (60.5 percent) and 14th in scoring (14.5 points per game).

Philadelphia (8-4, 3-1 CACC) travels to Wilmington (Del.) for a CACC battle on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 6 p.m.
