ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's basketball team begins its first season as the Jefferson Rams this weekend at the 2017 Sports Anaheim DII Tip-Off Classic in southern California. All games will be played at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, Calif., just southeast of Anaheim, Calif.

GAME TIMES AND OPPONENTS
- Jefferson will play three games, one on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- The Rams begin against Concordia (CA) on Friday, Nov. 3 at 11:30 p.m. ET (8:30 p.m. PT).
- On Saturday, Jefferson takes on Point Loma at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT).
- The squad closes out the three-game weekend against Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT).

THE JEFFERSON RAMS
Jefferson was picked to finish first in the CACC South Division on Wednesday afternoon. The Rams earned 98 points and 14 first-place votes to top the South Division in the CACC. Last season, the Rams went 21-9 including 16-3 in conference before falling in the CACC Semifinals. Kaison Randolph returns for his senior season after being named to the All-CACC First Team as a junior. Kylan Guerra will look to build off his freshman campaign, which saw him named the CACC Rookie of the Year. Jefferson is led by Coach Herb Magee, who has an overall record of 1053-428 (.716) in 50 seasons. On July 1, 2017, Philadelphia University integrated with Thomas Jefferson University to become Jefferson. After 50 years as the coach for Philadelphia, Coach Magee begins his 51st season with the program in 2017-18.

THE CONCORDIA EAGLES (CA)
Concordia was picked to finish fourth in the PacWest Conference Preseason Poll in their first year as official members of NCAA DII. Concordia finished fifth in the 2016-2017 season with a final record of 17-11 overall and 13-7 in conference. In their first two years in the league, the Eagles have gone a combined 28-12. Returner JT Roach is the lone Eagle to represent Concordia on the Preseason All-PacWest team this year. The redshirt senior transferred from Citrus College and played his first season for the Eagles in 2015-2016. Roach played in 27 games for 666 minutes total. The 6-5 guard averaged 16.7 points per game last season.

THE POINT LOMA SEA LIONS
Point Loma was voted to finish third in the PacWest standings in 2017-18. Point guard Josh Rodriguez represented PLNU on the preseason All-PacWest team. Last season, he averaged 15.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and a PacWest-leading 5.5 assists per game. Rodriguez, along with the 2016-17 PacWest Freshman of the Year, Sterling Somers, will be the two returning starters for the Sea Lions. Point Loma went 17-13 a season ago following a run to their conference championship game.

THE PALM BEACH ATLANTIC SAILFISH
Palm Beach Atlantic was picked to finish sixth in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll, which is voted on by all 11 men's basketball head coaches. The Sailfish finished fourth in the SSC standings after the 2016-17 season, and earned the right to host a SSC Tournament Quarterfinal game.  The Sailfish made the SSC Championship game in March of 2017, after upsetting the number one seed Barry in overtime 97-95.  The 'Fish fell to Rollins in the Championship 71-70 in the final seconds.  The Sailfish are returning their top five scorers from last season, led by De'Ondre Jackson and Bakari Warthen.
