LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – For the second consecutive match the Philadelphia University men's golf team had to fight a strong wind on its way to a second-place finish against Dominican (N.Y.) and the University of the Sciences Thursday afternoon at the ACE Club.
The Rams turned in a team score of 344 to tie for second with the University of the Sciences. The Chargers were able to navigate the course and wind to shot a 310.
Brendan Murray was the low-man for the Rams with a round of 82, which was fourth overall. Brandon Capone and Ryan O'Donnell each turned in rounds of 84 to finish the day in a tie for fifth. David Vasquez shot a 94 and Tim Gobrecht had a 105 in their first action of the spring season.
Dominican's Eric Reiher was the overall winner after firing off a round of 77. Fellow Charger Keith Prokop took home second place with a score of 78.
The Devils' top golfer was Joe D'Uva who came in third place with an 81.
Philadelphia will square off with the University of the Sciences once again, along with the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg, Saturday, March 31 at the ACE Club.
