LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) had a round of 76 (+4) to finish in first place in a tri-match against the University of the Sciences and Dowling held Monday afternoon at the par-72 ACE Club.
Mahal's score, which was his second-best round of the season, helped the Rams have a team score of 333 to take second place. Dowling was the team winner with a score of 315, while USciences had the third-place score of 348.
Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) turned in a scorecard of 83 (+11) for a seventh-place finish out of the 15 golfers. Nick Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Daniel Carpenter (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) both carded an 87 (+15) to tie for 10th. The 87 is Carpenter's second best round of the season.
Austin Regan (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) closed out Philadelphia's lineup with a 93 (+21) and was tied for 13th overall.
Charlie Loy led Dowling with the second-place score of 77 (+5). Austin Staiano had the Devils' best score with an 81 (+9) to finish in a deadlock for fifth.
Philadelphia heads to Inniscronne Golf Club in Avondale, Pa. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 to compete in the Griffin Invitational.
