Golf finishes second against Chestnut Hill and Penn State-Abington

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Philadelphia University golf team completed its home fall schedule with a second place finish in a tri-match against Chestnut Hill and Penn State-Abington Sunday afternoon at the par-72 ACE Club.

Philadelphia had a runner-up score of 325, 19 strokes behind event winner Chestnut Hill's 306. Penn State-Abington finished up with a score of 343.

Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) paced the Rams on Sunday as he came in third in the 15-player event with a round of 78 (+6), his second-best round of the season.

Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) and Nicholas Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) ended the day with scores of 81 (+9) to finish in a three-way tie for sixth.

Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell) turned in a scorecard of 85 (+13) to complete the day in the eighth position. Daniel Carpenter (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) carded a 96 (+24) for a 15th-place finish.

Chestnut Hill's Anthony Hoffman played his round at even-par 72 to claim the tri-match.

Mike Lamb led the Nittany Lions with a round of 79 (+7).

Philadelphia completes the fall at the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptor Fall Golf Invitational on Monday, Oct. 26 at the Pennsauken Country Club.
