LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's golf team returns to The ACE Club, its home course on Tuesday afternoon and came in third in a tri-match against Neumann and Dominican (N.Y.).
Led by 11th-place rounds of 85 (+13) from Peter Mahal (Great Meadows, N.J./Hackettstown) and Nicholas Nguyen (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin), Philadelphia had a team score of 344. Jayson Gonzalez-Adams (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico/Colegio Rosa-Bell) and Thomas Lucci (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) completed the scoring for the Rams as they were deadlocked for 13th with scores of 87 (+15).
Austin Regan (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) finished his round one stroke behind Gonzalez-Adams and Lucci by turning in a scorecard of 88 (+16) and coming in 15th. Daniel Carpenter (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) had a round of 90 (+18) to end the day in 17th.
Dominican put its golfers in the top three positions, led by event winner Danny Parker's round of 77 (+5), to claim the team title with a round of 316. Neumann recorded the second-place score of 327.
Philadelphia heads to Honeybrook, Pa. to compete in the two-day Rosemont Spring Invitational on April 9-10 at the Honeybrook Golf Club.
