Rowing Results from Nova Southeastern
Miami, FL- The Philadelphia University women's rowing team opened the spring season by winning both the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 races in a head-to-head race vs. Nova Southeastern University on Thursday.
The race was held on the Indian Creek River and conditions were fair with a stiff headwind throughout the entire race.
Coach O'Brien was pleased with the performance of both crews. In the V8 race the team went off the line almost a half length down, but kept their poise and continued to follow the race plan. By the half way point (1000 meters), the PhilaU squad had narrowed the margin to two seats down (about 1/4 length). In the second half of the race (last 1000 meters), the Lady Rams began to push through NSU and never looked back.
