Mens V4 Takes Second as Dad Vail Comes to a Close

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men’s and women’s rowing teams completed their run at the 2010 Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday afternoon on the Schuylkill River. 

The men’s V4 qualified for their semifinals (they posted the fastest time overall out of 52 boats) and qualified for the final on Satruday.  In the final, the team speeded to a second-place finish,  and just missed winning it outright, finishing less than a second (7:17.38) behind winner Grand Valley State (7:16.3). 

“Overall it was a great day for PhilaU crew,” said Head Coach Chris O’Brien.  “

The women’s V8 qualified for the Grand Final (no semifinal) on Saturday and ended the Regatta with a fourth-place finish in the Grand Finale (7:13), just two seconds behind Seattle Pacific. 

The women’s V4 qualified for their semifinal and finished fourth in the semis (7:52) to end their day.
