Rowing Glides at Knecht Cup

Camden, NJ- The Philadelphia University women's and men's rowing squads competed across the river on the Cooper in the Knecht Cup this weekend. 

The men's V8 took third on Sunday in the DII/III event, finishing in 6:49.11 to beat out Carnegie Mellon-Hobart won in 6:32.48.  In the men's V4, the Rams took fourth of six boats, in 7:08.93.  Mercyhurst won it in 7:02.19.  Earlier in the morning, the V4 finished second in their heat (7:02.48), beaten only by Loyola and beating out city rivals Villanova and Temple. 

In the women's Club 8 DII/III event, PhilaU took fifth of six boats, finishing in 7:45.25 in the finals, crossing the finish ahead of Penn State.  Grand Valley won in 7:15.42.  '

Both teams return to action Saturday (4/16) in the Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River.
