Men’s V4, Women’s V8 Advance to Dad Vail Day 2

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's and women's teams competed in the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta in the qualifying heats on Friday (5/13) on the Schuylkill River.

The men's V4 took first in their heat (6:52), coxswained by Chris Valotta to advance to Saturday.  The boat beat out Michigan, VA Commonwealth, St. Thomas, Manhattan and Merchant Marine and will compete at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) in their semifinal.  The men's pair took fifth (8:23).

The women's V8 took fifth place (7:16) of five boats and will move on to the second day of competition in the DII Petite Final at 4:30 p.m.  The women's Frosh/Novice 4 finished in third-place finish in their heat (8:52), joining winner Brock 9 and West Virginia in the top three.
