CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's rowing team took part in the Philadelphia University Invitational against Franklin & Marshall, Washington College and Villanova Saturday morning on the Schuylkill River.
The Varsity Four boat won the day for the Rams with a second place finish after completing the course in 7:01.46. The boat was coxed by Alex Jones and featured Logan Smith, Kevin Hines, Zach Wilmarth and Chris Valotta. Franklin & Marshall was the open-water winner with a time of 6:56.40
The Varsity Two was a third-place finisher, crossing the finish line in 7:25.93. Washington College took the race in 6:34.40. The race was moved upriver before of rough conditions, and shortened to 1,500 meters.
The Rams will compete in the Knecht Cup on Cooper River Saturday, April 14 in Pennsauken, N.J.
