Late Game Prowess Lifts Mens Soccer to 2-1 Victory at Caldwell
Caldwell, NJ- The Philadelphia University men's soccer team (9-3, 6-2 CACC) got a 2-1 win at Caldwell College (3-8, 3-4 CACC) on Saturday afternoon. Junior midfielder Mike Mousaw (Marmora, NJ/ Ocean City) had the game-winner in the 78th minute from 30 yards out, assisted by sophomore forward Milos Racic (Belgrade, Serbia/ Ridley).
CC scored early to take a 1-0 lead in the first half, just seven minutes into play on a shot from Bryan Broderick. PhilaU sophomore Ian Martin (Beachwood, NJ/ Toms River South) evened the keel with a score in the second half at 74:51, assisted by freshman defender Travis Lobb (Lititz, PA/ Manheim).
Mousaw went on to score the difference-maker just four minutes later to seal the win for the Rams.
PhilaU senior goalie Buddy Custer (Cinnaminson, NJ/ Cinnaminson) made one save in 90 minutes, while CC's John Londono had nine saves for the Cougars.
The Rams stay on the road for their next contest, Wednesday (10/14) at Wilmington at 4:00 p.m.
