Mens Soccer Ends Season in 4-0 CACC Playoff Loss
Philadelphia, PA- The #4 seeded Philadelphia University Rams (11-7, 7-4 CACC) fell 4-0 in the first round of the men's soccer Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) playoffs to the #5 Bloomfield College Deacons (7-9-1, 3-3-1 CACC) on Monday afternoon. The loss effectively ends the men's soccer 2009 season.
PhilaU outshot the Deacons 27-21 for the contest.
The Deacons broke their silence just six minutes into the second half, getting a zinger-the eventual game-winner-from Jason Bryan to go up 1-0.
Just seven minutes later, BC's Terri Gibbs knocked a header in for the Deacon's second goal, and three minutes later got a goal off a hard rebound to make it 3-0.
BC's Edwin Palomo touched in the Deacon's final goal with seven minutes remaining to make the final 4-0.
PhilaU senior goalie Emmanuel Asangmbeng (Riverdale, MD/ Bladensburg) had seven saves in goal while BC's Steven Alonso made 15 stops for the Deacons.
