CACC Names Five PhilaU Soccer Players to All-CACC Team
Philadelphia, PA-Five Philadelphia University student-athletes have been selected by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the 2010 All-CACC Soccer Team for their outstanding performance this season.
Senior defender Wojciech Sliwinski and junior midfielder Ryan Purnell were both named First Team for men's soccer. Sliwinski has seen action in 18 games for the Rams this season starting each one. He has tallied five goals with nine shots. Purnell has been on the field every game this season and has led the team in both goals with seven and assists with eight.
Rookie goal keeper Alex Heston took honorable mention from the CACC after defending the net for the Rams in 15 games making a team high of 76 saves.
In women's soccer, freshman midfielder Janine Cascio was named Second Team by the CACC. Her season has included the team high of eight goals along with two assists across 18 games played. Senior midfielder Sarah Redka was awarded honorable mention taking 41 shots for the Rams and scoring one goal.
Junior defender Erin Walter was honored for the second year in a row by being named to the CoSida's ESPN Academic All-American women's soccer team. Walter ended the season tallying two goals and one assist.
