Firsts Aplenty in 2-0 Win for Men's Soccer

Philadelphia, PA- It was a day of firsts for the Philadelphia University men's soccer team (5-7, 3-5 CACC) in a 2-0 win over the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning (0-10, 0-8 CACC) on Wednesday night at Ravenhill Field.

In the 20th minute, PhilaU rookie defender John Hlava notched his first collegiate goal and eventual game-winner, assisted by senior Milos Racic.

The Rams led 1-0 at halftime.

Just five minutes into the second half in the 50th minute, PhilaU sophomore defender David Lawrence scored on a knock from junior Travis Lobb.  It was Lawrence's first collegiate goal as well. 

In goal, PhilaU rookie Thomas Attamante got his first collegiate start, picking up two saves in the process.  GBC's Ignacio Farias collected seven saves in a complete game for the Lightning.

Next up for the Rams will be a CACC road contest at Post University on Saturday (10/15) at 3 p.m.
