NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) men's soccer team, headed by Ptah Myers, was picked to finish fifth in the 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. The new was announced by the CACC on Wednesday morning.
In the coaches' poll, the Rams were picked behind conference foes Wilmington, Post, Caldwell and Georgian Court, all receiving at least one first-place vote. Wilmington was picked to win the league with seven of 13 first-place votes, five more than the next school.
Last season, Myers' squad finished 6-10-2 and fell in the CACC Championship Quarterfinals to Georgian Court, 1-0.
The Rams look to bounce back in 2017 with its 18-match slate, featuring nine home contests and 12 CACC affairs. Click here to read about the men's soccer schedule.
The season begins on Thursday, Aug. 31 with a tough midweek, nonconference test against the West Chester Rams, a team that made the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Action begins at 4 p.m. from Ravenhill Field.
