Men's Tennis Earns Hard-Fought 5-4 Win over East Stroudsburg

Head Coach Marty Gilbert's Philadelphia University men's tennis team won four of six singles matches on Saturday, helping the Rams secure a 5-4 win over East Stroudsburg University at home. The victory moves the Rams to one game over .500 for the year at 7-6 overall.

The visiting Warriors took two of three doubles matches to open the day with senior Anders Novesky and freshman Kyle Kaltenbacher earning the lone victory for the Rams with an 8-3 win at #1 doubles. Gilbert's team nearly took a second doubles contest, but senior Alex Richter and freshman Tom McAvoy came up just short at #2 doubles, falling by an 8-7 decision.

Philadelphia University then went to work in singles play as Kaltenbacher and Novesky triumphed at #1 and #2 singles, respectively, with senior Boo Burnier and freshman Seppi Hutter (pictured) also picking up wins. The Rams, winners of two straight, will be back in action on Sunday, March 20th, traveling to Bloomsburg University.
