Men's & Women's Tennis Both Fall 8-1 at Florida Tech
Melbourne, FL- The Philadelphia University men's and women's tennis teams kicked off their spring schedules on Saturday (3/14) vs. Florida Tech. Both teams fell by identical 8-1 scores.
The men got their only point in doubles from the #1 freshmen team of Adrian Torroella Cruz (Gainesville, FL)/Manoli Sgouros (Forest Hills, NY/ Holy Cross HS), who pulled out a 9-8 victory over FTM's Jonathan Hanna/Stuart Perkins. Torroella Cruz fell at the #1 singles spot 6-4, 6-3 to FTM's James McLane.
On the women's side, the Lady Ram's got a 'W' from #6 singles sophomore Sarah Harris (West Chester, PA/ West Chester East), a 6-3, 6-0 winner over FTM's Jelani Reynolds. Sophomore #1 singles Adriana Rodriguez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio Sagrados Corazones) fell 6-1, 6-0 to FTM's Natalia Ramos.
The Rams return to action on Monday, March 16th vs. Merrimack College in Florida at 1:00 p.m.
