Men's Tennis Players Advance to Championship Saturday
Philadelphia, PA- Several Philadelphia University men's tennis players advanced to their respective championship matches after faring well on the first day of the CACC Men's Tennis Individual Championships. The championships begin tomorrow (4/25) at Chestnut Hill College with the Doubles Championship kicking the day off at 9 a.m.
The doubles championship will be a maroon and gray affair as #1 seeded freshmen Adrian Torroella-Cruz (Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) and Manoli Sgouros (Forest Hills, NY/ Holy Cross HS) take on their sophomore teammates #3 seeded Tom McAvoy (Phoenixville, PA/ Phoenixville) and Seppi Hutter (Bellevue, WA/ Bellevue). The winner will be crowned the CACC Doubles Champions.
In singles, #1 seeded Torroella-Cruz and #3 seeded Sgouros will both face USP players, with the winners advancing to the CACC Singles Championship match, held later that day.
