Tennis Unlucky in 9-0 Loss to Florida Tech

Melbourne, FL- The Philadelphia University men’s tennis team (5-3) wrapped up their spring break trip with a 9-0 shutout loss to Florida Tech (5-8) on Wednesday.

Although not getting any points, the Rams played competitively against Panthers, going into three sets at third and fourth singles.

PhilaU sophomore Manoli Sgouros (Forest Hills, NY/ Holy Cross) fell 6-3, 6-7 (11-9), 10-6 at third singles, while fellow sophomore Eric Guerrero (Lawrence, MA/ Central Catholic) dropped a tight 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 fourth singles contest.

Sophomore second singles Adrian Torroella-Cruz (Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) dropped his match 6-0, 6-1.

The Rams return home to face East Stroudsburg University on Sunday (3/21) at noon at the Salaman’58 Courts.
