Men's Tennis Picks Up 9-0 Victory Against Eastern
Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men's tennis team (2-0) won their second match of the fall in a 9-0 sweep of visiting Eastern University on Monday afternoon.
First singles sophomore Adrian Torroella-Cruz (Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) got a 6-0 win over EU's Gates, and picked up an 8-1 #3 doubles match with senior partner Mario Bermeo (Tannersville, PA/ Notre Dame).
All six PhilaU singles players combined to give up just six games. The Ram's first doubles team of junior Tom McAvoy (Phoenixville, PA/ Phoenixville) and junior Seppi Hutter (Bellevue, WA/ Bellevue) got an 8-5 win, while #2 doubles sophomore Ryan Christopher (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) and sophomore Eric Guerrero (Tannersville, PA/ Notre Dame) won 8-0.
PhilaU returns to action in their final September contest on Friday (9/25) at La Salle University at a time to be determined.
