Men's Tennis Has Early Success in ITA Tournament
Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University senior Manoli Sgouros advanced in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East 'B' Singles Tournament after knocking out Merrimack's Sean Pahler 8-4 in the first round to advance to Sunday's quarterfinals matchup. Other notable finishes included Ryan Christopher defeated Eduardo Maurtua (NYIT) 8-1 and freshman Taylor Dedeke defeated Mike McDonald (POST) 8-2; both wil be joining fellow teammate Sgouros in the quarterfinals.
Sgouros also advanced in 'B' doubles with teammate Christopher 8-4 over NYIT and will compete in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Also, the tandem of Dedeke and junior Josh Greenberg topped Post University by a score of 9-7.
