PhilaU Loses to Merrimack 7-2

Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University men’s tennis team (0-1) came up short against Merrimack with a final score of 7-2.  Both of the singles and doubles matches were dominated by Merrimack.

#3 singles senior Manoli Sgouros went the distance as the only PhilaU player to win his singles match in a 9-6, 7-5 win. The #2 doubles tandem also consisting of Sgouros along with fellow senior Ryan Christopher tallied an 8-6 win; it was the only doubles win of the match for PhilaU.

The Rams return to Philadelphia for a weekend of ITA matches in a regional tournament. Times for the matches are to be determined.
