NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Philadelphia University freshman Oskar Haedicke (Iserlohn, Germany/Gymnasium An der Stenner Iserlohn) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's tennis rookie of the week Monday.
Haedicke had a strong weekend against St. Thomas Aquinas (March 10) and Adelphi (March 11), going 2-0 in No. 2 singles and 1-1 with Luis Molina Megias (Gran Canaria, Spain/Atlantic School Garoe) at No. 1 doubles.
In singles action, Haedicke was a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) winner against St. Thomas Aquinas' Javier Munoz and a 6-1, 6-3 victor over Adelphi's Uladzislau Litvinchuk. Haedicke and Molina Megias defeated the Spartans' top duo of Aaron Stahl and Luke Taplin 8-6.
Haedicke is a perfect 5-0 as a singles player this season. He has four victories playing at No. 2 and the other at No. 1. In doubles play, he earned two victories.
Philadelphia (2-3) returns to the court on Monday, March 20 with a non-conference match at Millersville starting at 2:30 p.m.
