Both Women and Men Run Well and Finish in the Top Five at the Philly Metro Championships
Head Coach Dave Thomas' Cross Country teams
were in action on Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, competing in the
Philadelphia Metro Championship, hosted by Cabrini
College. The men finished in 2nd place,
while the women tied for 5th place.
Traditional CACC power Felician College won the men's side, while
Georgian Court University topped the women's chart. On the
day, the Rams went 5-1 against CACC competition, and the Lady Rams
were 3-2 against their conference foes. Sophomores
Andrew Piotrowski (9th place) and Shawn
D'Andrea (11th place) paced the Rams, who placed seven of
their twelve runners inside the top 50 of the 161 total
entrants.
For the Lady Rams, true freshman Cassie Cohick led
the way with a 10th place performance, followed by sophomore
teammate Faith Anderson in 11th position.
All five of the Lady Rams finished in the top 45-out of the 150
women's harriers in the meet. The Cross Country squads return
to Belmont Plateau next weekend for the Belmont Classic
Championship.
