Runner Shawn D’Andrea Honored at Philadelphia Sports Writers Banquet
Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University junior cross-country standout Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) took his place as an honored guest at the 105th Philadelphia Sports Writers Association dinner on Monday evening.
D'Andrea rubbed elbows with several Philadelphia sports figures that were being honored including former 76er Darryl Dawkins, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel, Phillies pitcher Brad Lidge, Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown and numerous other professional and collegiate athletes and coaches.
The New Jersey native had another outstanding year for the Rams in 2008-09, running to third-place overall at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships. He earned CACC All-Conference honors for the third consecutive year and was also named the CACC ‘Runner of the Week' four times.
