Cross Country Women and Men Cruise to Goldey Beacom Title
Philadelphia, PA- Led by freshman Gabrielle Dei Tos (Freeland, PA/ MMI Prep) who finished in fifth overall (20:45) in the 5K, the Philadelphia University women's cross country team won the Goldey-Beacom Invitational on Saturday afternoon, beating out 12 other teams for the overall title. Men's junior runner Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) took the individual title 27 seconds ahead of the nearest competitor (27:33) to lead the men to the title (tied with Gwynedd Mercy).
Other top finishers for the women included sophomore Kaitlin O'Leary (Marlton, NJ/ Cherokee) in eighth (20:48) and sophomore Faith Anderson (Dover, PA/ Dover) in ninth-place (20:56).
Men's top finishers included: junior Kirk Tencate (Wayne, NJ/ Wayne Valley) in ninth (29:23) and sophomore David Snyder (New Providence, PA/ Solanco) in 10th (29:31).
Both the men and women's teams will compete in their last regular season meet at the Cabrini Invitational on Saturday, October 11th with the women starting at 12:00 p.m. and the men at 12:35 p.m.
