XC Runs at 100th IC4A/ECAC Championship

New York, NY- The Philadelphia men's and women's teams competed at the 100^th annual IC4A/ECAC Championships in Van Cortland Park, NY in cold and windy conditions on Saturday afternoon.

The women's squad finished 20^th overall led by freshman Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) in 71^st-place overall (20:05) in the women's 5K. She was followed by junior Faith Anderson in 119^th (20:34) and freshmen Christina Pina Chila (144^th-place) and Madelyn Trout (170^th-place). Other finishers were sophomore Kaitlin O'Leary (166^th) and freshman Victoria Hilferty (208).

The men finished 24^th/29 teams, led by junior Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) in 60^th-place overall in 26:56 for the men's five mile race. Juniors Kirk Tencate ran to 135^th place in 28:04 and Dave Snyder took 164^th place in 28:21. Other finishers included sophomore Jeff Kopczynski (182^nd), junior Andrew Piotrowski (188^th) and sophomore Schneider Eliassaint (200^th).
