Cross Country Runners-Up at Belmont Classic
Philadelphia, PA- Competing at their home course, the Philadelphia men's and women's cross country teams sprinted to runner-up overall finishes at the Belmont Classic on a muddy Saturday afternoon. The women were edged by just one point by Ursinus.
Junior Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VII) won the men's 8K in 26:38.90, while freshman Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) took third-place for the women in 19:42.9.
The Phila U. squads also got strong performances from sophomore Schneider Eliassaint (Maplewood, NJ/ Columbia Senior) in 13th-place and freshman Gabrielle Dei Tos (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) finishing 12th.
The teams head to the Goldey Beacom Invitational on Saturday, October 4th at Carousel Park at 10:30 a.m.
