D’Andrea Wins Paul Short as PhilaU Shows Well

Bethlehem, PA- The Philadelphia University cross country teams represented the maroon and gray well at the 36th Annual Brooks Paul Short Run on Friday afternoon.  The women's squad took third overall and the men finished seventh overall. 

The top women's finisher was sophomore Sarah Simonetti (Perkasie, PA/ Pennridge) who took third in the women' 6K race (22:24) to lead her team.  Fellow sophomore Anjelica DiNucci (Baltimore, MD/ Delaney) took 12th overall (23:12) to round out top 15 runners for the Lady Rams.

The top men's finisher was senior Shawn D'Andrea (Blackwood, NJ/ Paul VI) who won the men's 8K in 25:35, a new school-record time.  The next closest PhilaU runner was senior Andrew Piotrowski (Warminster, PA/ William Tennant) in 36th place out of 244 runners. 

Both teams head to the Cabrini Invitational next weekend (10/10), held at Belmont Plateau (site of this year's CACC Championships).  The race begins at 12:30 p.m.
