Track Races to Strong Rider Invitational Showing

Lawrenceville, NJ- The Philadelphia University men’s and women’s track teams competed at the Rider Invitational this weekend, hosted by Rider University.  The men’s team placed third overall, while the women took fifth. 

On the women’s side, freshman Chelsea Attaway finished ninth in the 1500m (5:11), while in the 800m run, junior Gabrielle Dei Tos took 11th (2:32).  In the women’s 5K junior Sarah Simonetti took second (18:53), just five seconds behind the winner, RU’s Paige McAtee. 

For the men, in the 1500m, freshman Noah Hutton took fourth overall (4:04), while in the 800m Hutton finished seventh (2:02).  In the 5K event, PhilaU junior Tyler Dye took second (16:11) followed closely by freshman Zachary Garman in third (16:17). 

In the 4x800 relay, PhilaU’s women took fourth (10:32) and the men took fourth as well (8:35). 

The track teams complete their season on Saturday (4/23) at the Widener Invitational.
