Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University women’s cross country team was ranked #5 this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in the East Region of Division II. The poll comes just prior to the NCAA Regional Championships that begin Saturday November 20th.
PhilaU holds the only ranking in the women’s poll for the CACC. The ladies took the CACC conference title for the third consecutive year on Sunday (11/7) with junior Sarah Simonetti taking first place.
Men’s cross country team was ranked #10 in the East Region after finishing second in the Conference Championship this past Sunday.
In the men’s East Region, UMass Lowell holds the #1 ranking while Felician holds #8 as the only other ranked CACC team. Stonehill was ranked #1 in women’s East.
This week’s regional rankings will be designated as the final rankings of the regular season. Week nine, next week, will be a pre-designated "repeat" week in advance of the NCAA Regional Championship weekend that begins November 20.
