SEWELL, N.J. – The Philadelphia University men's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish in the Bill Fritz/Charlie Way Invitational held Saturday afternoon at Rowan College at Gloucester County.
The Rams had a score of 138 points in the 11-team event, won by host Rowan University with 22 points.
Aidan Cusick (Castle Pines, Colo./Valor Christian) was Philadelphia's first finisher for the second time this year after completing Saturday's 8-kilometer course in time of 28 minutes, 09.15 seconds. Cusick placed 14th overall.
Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) owned the 24th-place time of 28:50.63. Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) crossed the finish line in 30:46.08 to take 49th place. Eric Przyuski (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) ran the race in 31:05.47 to take 53rd, while Jake Wong () took the final scoring spot with the 56th-place time of 31:24.34.
Shane Fleming (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) posted a time of 33:45.26 to cross the line in 67th.
Cusick, Fadale, Przyuski, Wong, and Fleming all set career-best times on an 8K course.
In his first race of the 2015 season, Alec Fixl (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) finished in 80th with a time of 38:46.38.
Felician's Mike Secreti won the individual crown with the winning time of 26:43.77.
Philadelphia's next event is the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9:45 at Carousel Park in Wilmington, Del.
