BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Philadelphia University men's cross country finished in 18th place in the Paul Short Run White Race on a rainy Friday afternoon on the campus of Lehigh University.
The Rams had a team score of 521 points in the 38-team field. Philadelphia was second out of the six Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference teams competing in the event.
For the second straight week, Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) was the team's first runner to cross the finish line as he completed Friday's 8-kilometer course in a season-best time of 27 minutes, 04 seconds to come in 30th in the field of 308 runners.
Aiden Cusick (Castle Pines, Colo./Valor Christian) posted the 69th-place time of 27:34, a season low. After missing last week's race, Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Md./Allegany) returned to the Rams' lineup and came in 79th with a time of 27:43.
Jake Wong (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) completed the race in 29:35 to take 180th place, adding 160 points to the Rams' score. Philadelphia's final scoring position went to Eric Przyuski (Audubon, Pa./Methacton), who finished in 208th with a time of 30:22 to add 183 points.
The University of Mary Washington was the team championship with 145 points. Southern Connecticut's Ben Sorensen owned the race-winning time of 25:56.
Philadelphia's next event is the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Championship on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Belmont Plateau, the team's home course.
