PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia University men's cross country team turned in an eighth place finish in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championship Sunday morning at Belmont Plateau.
Led by All-CACC runner Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selingrove), the Rams accumulated 194 points. Wilmington University won the conference title with 52 points.
In his first CACC Championship race, Fadale crossed the finish line in 12th place with an 8-kilometer time of 28 minutes, 53.4 seconds to make the all-conference team for the first time.
Aidan Cusick (Castle Pines, Colo./Valor Christian) ran the course in a time of 30:06.4 seconds to place 30th, while Jake Wong (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) finished in 38th after posting a time of 30:27.7.
Eric Przyuski (Audubon, Pa./Methacton) had the 51st-place time of 32:20.8. The Rams' final scoring position went to Shane Fleming (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion), who turned in the 63rd-place time of 34:08.8.
Alec Fixl (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) rounded out the Philadelphia effort as he crossed the finish line in 63rd with a time of 34:08.8.
Chestnut Hill's Giancarlo Martines claimed the individual championship with a time of 27:08.6.
Philadelphia's next competition is the NCAA Division II East Region Championship on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
