NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Alec Fixl (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh), Sergei Cendo (Cumberland, Md./Allegany), and Ethan Fadale (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove) from the Philadelphia University men's cross country team were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
Fixl—an engineering major with a 3.74 grade-point average—is on the all-academic team for the second straight year. Cendo—a construction management major with a 3.68 GPA—and Fadale—a physician assistant studies major with a 3.82 GPA—are first-time honorees.
Cendo and Fadale were both All-CACC runners this season.
The conference had 22 student-athletes overall earn a place on the CACC All-Academic Team.
In order to be named to the CACC Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team, recipients be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher through the spring or summer semester of 2016.
The Rams came in fourth in the 2016 CACC championship and 16th in the NCAA Division II East Region Championship.
