Senior Jacque Curtis was selected as a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) second-team All-Conference utility player, the league announced today. In doing so, Curtis earns her second straight all-conference honors, having been a first-team selection at utility player as a junior in 2007.

April 22, 2008 Lady Rams Raise League Record to .500 Mark With Sweep of Griffins
Head Coach John Kelly's softball team earned their ninth and tenth Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victories of the season with a pair of wins over Chestnut Hill College on the School House Lane field this afternoon. The Lady Rams are now 14-24 overall and 10-10 in CACC action. The 10 wins in conference play are the most since the program joined the CACC prior to the 2006 season. Their .500 record in league games this late in the season is easily Philadelphia University's best performance in Coach Kelly's three-year tenure. With four games remaining on their conference slate, the Lady Rams are still alive for a postseason CACC Tournament berth.

Senior Jacque Curtis (pictured) had an outstanding offensive performance for the Philadelphia University on Sunday afternoon against Adelphi University, but it wasn't enough to prevent a doubleheader sweep by the Panthers. Curtis finished the twinbill with five hits, four runs, five RBI and two homeruns for the Lady Rams, who fall to 12-24 overall on the season.

Molloy College limited Philadelphia University to a combined nine hits in two games as the Lady Lions swept a non-conference doubleheader by scores of 9-1 and 3-0 in Rockville Centre, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. The pair of losses snap a four-game winning streak by the Lady Rams as they fall to 12-22 overall on the season.

The Philadelphia University softball team took both games of a doubleheader on the School House Lane field this afternoon. The Lady Rams blanked visiting Nyack College 8-0 and 14-0 in two games shortened by the eight-run rule. Jacque Curtis got the win, pitching a two-hitter in game one; and the senior combined to go 7-for-8 at the plate, scoring four runs with six RBI in the twinbill.

Senior right hander Jacque Curtis (pictured) tossed a complete-game, extra-inning gem for the Philadelphia University softball team on Saturday afternoon as the Lady Rams earned a split with regionally-ranked Caldwell College. Head Coach John Kelly's team took a 2-1 decision in the opener in eight innings before falling by a 7-4 margin in the second contest of the day.

April 6, 2008 Curtis, Desmond Leads Lady Rams to Sweep at Bloomfield College
Senior Jacque Curtis and sophomore Maggie Desmond (pictured) led the Philadelphia University softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Bloomfield College on the road on Sunday afternoon. Curtis earned the win on the mound in the opening game and also hit a homerun while Desmond hit two homeruns on the day for the Lady Rams, who improve to 5-15 overall and 3-5 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
April 4, 2008 Rain Forces Postponement of Softball, Golf
Heavy rain in the Philadelphia area has forced the postponement of two varsity athletic events, scheduled for Friday, April 4th. Head Coach John Kelly and his softball team were slated to host Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader, but those games have been rescheduled for Friday, April 18th at Philadelphia University. Also affected by the inclement weather was the University's golf match at Holy Family University, which was postponed with no makeup date announced yet.
April 2, 2008 Lady Rams Swept by Defending CACC Champs on the Road
Head Coach John Kellys club dropped a pair of hard-fought games in Lakewood, N.J. versus defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) champion Georgian Court University. After the Lady Rams jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half inning, the Lions rallied to tie game one in the bottom of the seventh, forcing extra innings. The Lions then produced three base hits in the bottom of the eighth to score the 3-2 win. In game two, again the Lady Rams took the lead, but their 1-0 advantage did not hold up as Georgian Court posted four runs in the fourth en route to a 5-1 win. Senior left fielder and lead-off batter Maureen Keenan (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan; pictured) belted two singles and a double while scoring one run on the afternoon in the defeats.
March 29, 2008 Lady Rams Collect First League Win; Split with Dominican College
Senior infielder Janine Becker (pictured) drove in two runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday afternoon, giving the Philadelphia University softball team its first conference win, a 6-5 victory over visiting Dominican College on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers battled back for a 6-2 win in the second game of the day as the Lady Rams move to 3-13 overall on the season and 1-3 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

The Philadelphia University softball and baseball doubleheaders at home on Sunday, March 30 vs. West Chester University and Millersville University, respectively, have been postponed.
March 25, 2008 Lady Rams Drop Non-Conference Twinbill at Shippensburg
The Philadelphia University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests at Shippensburg University on Tuesday afternoon, falling to the Lady Raiders on the road. Head Coach John Kelly's squad fell in a hard-fought 1-0 contest in the opener as Shippensburg scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning before suffering an 8-0 setback in the second game.
Senior pitcher Jacque Curtis had an outstanding performance on the mound for the Lady Rams, allowing just one run on four hits in six innings of work. Shippensburg won the contest with a pair of back-to-back doubles by freshman shortstop Hope Cornell and junior third baseman Lori Knopf in the final inning of regulation to secure the victory.
March 13, 2008 Philadelphia University Softball Team Earns First Win of Season at Chestnut Hill
The Lady Rams softball team recorded their first win of the season as they split a non-conference doubleheader at nearby Chestnut Hill College today. Philadelphia University (1-3 overall) was held to one run on three hits as they fell in game one, but rallied for 10 runs on 13 hits in game two as the Lady Rams enter next week's Rebel Spring Games in Orlando on a winning note.
March 12, 2008 Lady Rams Drop Season-Opening Twinbill at Wilmington University
Head Coach John Kelly and his Philadelphia University softball team kicked off the 2008 season on Wednesday afternoon, falling in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader at Wilmington University. The Lady Rams opened the year with a hard-fought 2-1 setback to the Wildcats before dropping a 4-1 decision in the second game in New Castle, Del.
In the first contest, the Wildcats scored twice in the bottom of the first and held on for the one-run decision. The Lady Rams tallied their lone run in the top of the fourth when sophomore shortstop Kristyn Loughery drove in senior outfielder Maureen Keenan with an RBI double. Senior right hander Jacque Curtis (pictured) suffered the loss on the mound for Philadelphia University despite surrendering just four hits and two runs in six strong innings of work.
