Softball Standout Jacque Curtis Named CACC First-Team All-Conference
Philadelphia University softball standout Jacque
Curtis was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
(CACC) first-team All-Conference on Tuesday, May 1st, in voting
done by the league's coaches. A three-year starter for the
Lady Rams, Curtis was selected as the league's top designated
player, signified for contributions at several positions.
A junior from Punxsutawney, Pa., Curtis played several different
positions this spring for the Lady Rams including pitcher, catcher,
outfielder and designated hitter. She led the Lady Rams in
nearly every offensive category in 40 games including batting
average (.317), hits (38), runs (22) and RBI (25) while also
setting a new single-season school record with six homeruns.
On the mound, she led the team in innings pitched and ERA while
finishing the season with three victories.
Curtis will enter her senior season ranked in the top ten in school
history in runs, homeruns and RBI. She is also ranked in the
top five in school history in innings pitched, wins and strikeouts.
