Lady Rams Swept at Home by University of the Sciences
The University of the Sciences took two key Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games from host Philadelphia University on Thursday afternoon, winning by scores of 10-2 and 7-5. The setbacks drop the Lady Rams to 14-26 overall including a 10-12 mark in conference play.
In the opener, the Devils pounded out 17 hits and scored in all, but one inning and cruising to the victory. Senior Janine Becker (pictured) and sophomore Kristin Giamatteo drove in a run apiece for the Lady Rams, who were limited to just four hits in the setback.
In the second game of the day, the Lady Rams had a much better offensive showing, scoring five times on seven hits, but four errors proved too much to overcome. Sophomores Kelly Rauco and Kristyn Loughery each registered a pair of hits for Philadelphia University in a losing effort as the Lady Rams saw their two-game winning streak come to an end.
Head Coach John Kelly and his squad are back in action on Saturday, April 26th with a conference twinbill at Post University.
