CACC Weekly Awards Announced for April

Philadelphia, PA- Three Philadelphia University student-athletes were included in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's most recent awards, announced today.

Softball rookie pitcher Ali Schmidt (Cordova, MD/ Easton) stole the show this week, garnering ‘Pitcher of the Week' and ‘Rookie of the Week' in her first CACC nod.  She went 3-0 with a .36 ERA last week, leading the Lady Rams to wins over #16 nationally-ranked Georgian Court University and #1 regionally-ranked C.W. Post.  She struck out 38 on the week and allowed just six hits.

Baseball sophomore Jared Farbman (Philadelphia, PA/ Central) took ‘Honorable Mention' as he allowed just one run and two hits in an 9-1 win over Caldwell.  He struck out 13 in the contest.

Men's tennis freshman Adrian Torroella-Cruz (Gainesville, FL/ Gainesville) earned ‘Rookie of the Week' for the third week in a row as he went 3-0 on the week in both #1 singles and doubles.
