Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University softball team (9-7, 4-2 CACC) got the one-two punch they needed in two wins against the Lincoln University Lions (4-9) on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore pitcher Ali Schmidt (Cordova, MD/ Easton) racked up 18 strikeouts in just seven total innings pitched between both games. She is 6-1 on the year.
Offensively, junior outfielder Jen Richard (Millstone Twp., NJ/ Allentown) had a day going 2-3 at the plate with three runs scored and three stolen bases. Sophomore catcher Katie Renner (Berryville, VA/ Brunswick) and freshman infielder Kacie DeMaio (Highland, NY/ Highland) each had two RBIs in game one.
