Old Westbury, NY- The Philadelphia University Lady Rams (13-13, 5-5 CACC) picked up two wins on Sunday over Molloy College (25-11, 8-4 ECC) in non-conference action. The Lady Rams eked out a 2-1 victory in the first game of the day and then mounted a late-game come-back in the second contest to take a 6-4 win and complete the sweep.
In the first game, sophomore catcher Katie Renner (Berrysville, VA/ Brunwsick) and sophomore designated hitter Danielle Parisi (Teaneck, NJ/ WW Plainsboro N.) had RBIs. Renner’s came on a solo homer. Sophomore pitcher Ali Schmidt (Cordova, MD/ Easton) notched her eighth win, striking out eight in seven innings.
The second game saw the Lady Rams down 4-3 going into the seventh and final inning. The Philly girls managed three runs in that inning to take the win, as senior infielder Maggie Desmond (Bayport, NY/ St. John’s) went 3-4 with four RBIs. Senior infielder Kelly Rauco (Nutley, NJ/ Nutley) added a round-tripper in the winning effort. Junior hurler Randi Wozniak (Newtown Sq., PA/ Marple Newtown) got the win on the rubber, while Schmidt earned the save.
The team will host Bloomfield College on Tuesday (4/13) for their next contest at 3:00 p.m.
