Philadelphia, PA- Philadelphia University Head Coach John Kelly is in the midst of indoor regular season workouts with his team in preparation for the upcoming 2011 season.

"The team is in great shape and working hard to get ready for what promises to be the most challenging - and hopefully the most successful season yet," said Coach Kelly.

PhilaU, which finished last year 26-20, 14-8 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), will open the 2011 slate on March 1st in a home doubleheader vs. West Chester University at 2 p.m. After that a trip to Clermont, Florida is in order for eight games in five days.

The team returns three All-Conference players including junior hurler Ali Schmidt, junior catcher Katie Renner and senior outfielder Jen Richard.  In the past two seasons combined the Rams have gone 28-16 in conference games (a 64% winning percentage).

"Pitchers and catchers are looking sharp and indoor hitting workouts are ahead of schedule. These young ladies are motivated and ready to accept the challenge of another tough campaign in  the CACC," stated Coach Kelly.
