Lady Rams get a doubleheader split with Felician on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – First baseman Meaghan Lewis' two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth gave the Philadelphia University softball team a 6-4 win in game one of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader with Felician Saturday afternoon. The Golden Falcons came back to take game two, 7-2.

Before game one, the department of athletics and Lady Ram head coach Joe Long honored the four seniors on this year's team: Allison Glaser, Danielle Parisi, Allison Alexandroff and Katie Renner.

Philadelphia (10-25, 7-13 CACC) broke a scoreless tie with a four-run bottom of the fifth. Shortstop Stephanie Martin and pitcher Nicole Troisi had RBIs singles, while Parisi came through with a two-run double to dead center field.

Felician (9-31, 7-13 CACC) took advantage of a run-producing double by shortstop Brooke Lopez, a RBI fielder's choice by catcher Kelsi Ludwigsen, two Philadelphia errors and a wild pitch to tie the game up at four in the sixth.

Martin led the Philadelphia nine-hit attack with three hits, while Lewis and Parisi finished with two each. Lopez and right fielder Alyssa Banca both recorded two hits for Felician.

Philadelphia's Nicole Troisi was solid in a complete-game victory. She struck out four, while allowing just one earned run on six hits. Felician's Macy Chase took the loss after giving up two runs in 1.2 innings.

A Golden Falcon five-run top of the fifth—which included RBI doubles from first baseman Ciera Clark, designated player Taylor Parker and Banca, to make the score 6-0 was the difference in game two. Third baseman Carissa Trujillo added a single that drove in a run.

Philadelphia cut the gap to 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run single by Lewis, which plated Martin and left fielder Emma Haley.

Chase came back to earn the game two win after striking out nine hitters and allowing just four hits. Philadelphia's Samantha Abromavage suffered the loss, allowing three runs on four hits in four innings. She fanned three.

Ludwigsen paced Felician's offense with three hits, while Martin had two for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia heads to Molloy for a non-conference doubleheader Sunday, April 15 starting at 1 p.m.
