Ashley Webster Earns CACC Weekly Women's Basketball Honors

Philadelphia University's Ashley Webster has
been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)
Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday,
November 18th. Webster (shown), a 5-10 senior forward from
Philadelphia and a product of Cheltenham High School, filled the
box score to the tune of 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four
blocks and one steal in the Lady Rams' season-opening 96-73 victory at New York Institute of Technology
on Saturday, November 17th in Old Westbury, N.Y.
She shot 7-for-11 (.636) from the field and 6-for-6 from the
free-throw line while playing the entire 40 minutes of the
contest. Webster's four blocked shots in the season opener
move her within three (64) of surpassing former Lady Rams' great
Samara Speakes '05 (66) for eighth place among the
University's career leaders in the category. Her ten rebounds
at New York Tech give Webster 647 for her career to date, just five
shy of 12th place Beth Kobrzynski '93 on the
Philadelphia University all-time list for career boards.
Webster now has 798 points in her collegiate career and should she
remain on pace, is set to become the 23rd player in University
women's basketball history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
