Philadelphia, PA- The Philadelphia University Lady Rams (13-7, 8-3 CACC) defeated the Post University Eagles (3-16, 0-9 CACC) 75-50 Saturday afternoon at the Gallagher Athletic Center.
The contest opened with strong defense by both teams, as either team failed to score more than ten points for the first ten minutes of the half. However, the Lady Rams began pulling away at the 5:30 mark with a couple of easy baskets and held Post to 22.6% shooting in the first half.
Junior center Jess Romano (Horsham, PA/ Hatboro-Horsham) led the way for the Lady Rams, as she registered 14 points and 11 rebounds, while helping the Lady Rams take a 32-20 lead into the second stanza.
The Lady Rams started the second half much like they ended the first, as they forced more Eagle turnovers and converted them into fast break points. At 13:00 remaining, the Lady Rams extended their lead to 48-28 and never looked back going on to win 75-50.
Romano finished the game with 27 points and 18 rebounds, while senior guard Amanda Brennan (Stratford, NJ/ Sterling) finished with 14 points, on four made three point field goals.
Up next for the Lady Rams is a trip to Goldey-Beacom College on February 5th for a 6 p.m. start.
