Romano Scores 1,000th Point in 65-54 Loss to Millersville

Philadelphia, PA- Junior center Jess Romano (Hatboro-Horsham, PA/ Hatboro) scored her 1,000th point and totaled 21 points and 10 boards on the night, but the Philadelphia University Lady Rams (6-5, 2-1 CACC) dropped a 65-54 non-conference contest to the Millersville University Marauders (8-1, 0-0 PSAC) on Tuesday night.

The Marauders were led by Gladine St. Julien's 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Rams were outplayed over 40 minutes, as MU shot 48% to PhilaU's 34% from the floor.  The Lady Rams made just three treys, as MU sunk six.

Senior guard Amanda Brennan (Sterling, PA/ Stratford) had nine of her 11 points in the first half, as the Lady Rams trailed 31-28 at the break.

The Marauders opened up the second stanza on a 16-4 run to pull ahead 47-32 at 12:53.  MU would lead by as much at 18 on an Ashley Moyer free-throw at 3:15, but the Lady Rams ended the contest on a 9-2 rally that was too little, too late.

Freshman forward Christine Wooding (Northfield, NJ/ Mainland Regional) contributed seven points and two rebounds for PhilaU.

The Lady Rams return to action on Tuesday, January 6th at Adelphia University at 5:30 p.m.
